About Me

Instruments dabbled with over the years: ukelele, oboe, alto sax, flute, recorder (soprano and alto), guitar (mostly fingerpicking), piano (contra accompaniment), pennywhistle, Irish flute, alto flute.  Also voice: a cappella madrigals, mixed chorus standard works.

Been to Northeast Heritage Music Camp twice, Boxwood Festival once, Jam & Sing Thing once.

Want to continually strengthen my trad flute and whistle, enlarge repertoire, get more piano skills, get better on spoons and bones, learn bodhran.  Additional new direction: jazz on alto flute, particularly bossa nova tunes of Antonio Carlos Jobim.

I'm a software developer for the New York State Department of Health.

About Me

I have been a Bluegrass, Folk and Oldtime musician since 1962,  and grew up near Hew Haven, Connecticut where there was a HUGE music scene in the 60s and 70s. I was in a band for years called APPLE COUNTRY from the 60s throught the 80s and we played all over the northeast and south. My wife is Linda Schrade who owns Saratoga Beads and is an INCREDIBLE singer. We both lived in Kittery Maine for awhile before coming to upstate New York in 1990. We played together and I was in a band with Harvey Reid and Rick Watson, LONESOME DAVE AND THE NORTH DIXIE ROAD KINGS. When we moved here, I played in John Rossbach's band CHESTNUT GROVE. Now Linda and I are in an active band, recently signed by Wepecket Records, with our great friends Jane Rothfield and Alan Carr. We are called RED HEN and play new Oldtime, bluegrass and some Celtic roots music.

About Me

Any parent most likely knows that obtaining the best convertible car seats for their child is going to be one of the biggest things you do. You'll find automobile reviews in abundance everywhere, but a good car seat review can be difficult to find. Discovering great convertible seats options is vital to helping make the best choice for your child's safety, so it helps to know what you're searching for. With all of the distinctive brands and models out there, it might be challenging to tell which is which.

You will probably be better off sticking with the major manufacturers, such as Britax and Evenflo. You really can not go wrong with models such as the Britax Marathon, Britax Roundabout, Britax Boulevard, and the Britax Advocate CS. The Evenflo Triumph is also a great choice. You will want to make certain that you just do plenty of research prior to making a decision. You may also want to check with your pediatrician to see if they're aware of any changes or recalls that may possibly have happened for well-known seats.

About Me

Actively involved in the Pickin' and Singin' Gatherin' on the a capella singing side of things. I try not to miss festivals, gatherings or Sings if I can help it. I'm also the newsletter editor for the PSG.

I have an interest in percussion and have been known to infilitrate fiddle jams with my west African djembe, Turtleluna, and more stealthily with french canadian spoons when I get funny looks for breaking tradition ;)

I'm also an avid contra dancer, swing and salsa dancer, and could happily waltz the night away.

Professionally, I've been a graphic and web designer and writer for a very long time. You can usually find me wherever creativity, information and technology intersect.
